Web Content Manager
A tool which everyone who has made a Web page can understand is the "content manager." This is a tool meant to lessen the time and difficulty involved in maintaining a decent looking and up-to-date Web site. The latest are supported by databases in order to make it possible to back them up easily and also to make them searchable. In the last few years, the Web log, or "Blog," has become popular. While there are of course numerous commercial candidates for your money, the best blogs are open source and the best blog/CMS applications (based on what's under the hood) are We support all of them and others, too. Find your favorite Free and/or Open Source application and we'll host it for you -- see about our hosting options in the services area, please. Our current favorite is called Drupal. Like all the other software we use, it is free and licensed under the GPL. But we chose it because it's powerful, flexible and reasonably easy to use -- if you take a little time to get to learn how to use it. We offer installation, hosting, design and customization (a.k.a. "development") -- and, of course, training. Here is a nice one which we host, but didn't design -- the school admin did it! Have a look at our training and Web site example sections to see more about Drupal. They arein the "Services" section. |
